A Counting Journey Through Tanzania
Join Arusha, Mosi, Tumpe and their Maasai friends as they set out on a
counting journey through the grasslands of Tanzania. Along the way, the
children encounter all sorts of animals including elephants, lions and monkeys,
while counting from one to ten in both English and Swahili. The lively,
rhyming text is accompanied by an illustrated guide to counting in Swahili, a
map, notes about each of the animals and interesting facts about Tanzania and
the Maasai people.
Over grasslands damp with dew We came across some ostriches,
Our Review: A beautiful book with realistic illustrations making it an ideal book for the Montessori classroom and for class projects introducing East Africa. Factual information about animals, Tanzania and an introduction to counting in swahili are included at the end of the book. Also good for widening the horizons of your English speaking children at home. The rhyming text is too difficult for young French children learning English but we use it for counting and learning animal names. Notre Avis: Un livre
